Sun Shines on Fun Run!

The sun was shining down on all of the runners, walkers, bikers and joggers who came out for our McClure Miller Respite House 5K Fun Run & Jiggety Jog on Saturday, May 7. Thanks to the sponsors and all of our participants and donors, more than $43,500 was raised for Vermont’s only hospice home.
It was a tight race, but Pat Myette emerged as our top individual fundraiser with a grand total of $2,025. Team Donna’s Divas took home the award for top team fundraiser with a grand total of $2,195.
On the timed run side, Jamie Shearer of Essex Junction, VT, finished first overall with a time of 18:36. Sadie Holmes of Charlotte, VT, was the first female runner to cross the finish line with a time of 23:35.

“Each year we come together to honor the residents, caregivers and families who have called Respite House their home. And every year, we welcome new members to our Respite House family. This event is such a beautiful way to celebrate the lives of lost loved ones. We are so thankful to our community for this support,” said McClure Miller Respite House Administrator Madeline Sullivan-Drake.
Every dollar raised during this event allows Respite House to continue to care for residents who receive Hospice care at the House, but are unable to pay full fee for room and board. Last year, the House served 230 people with terminal illness, providing them a home-away-from-home to live out their remaining days in dignity, surrounded by family and friends.
