VNA_RESPITE_024We invite anyone whose life has been impacted or touched by the McClure Miller Respite House in Williston over the last 25 years to join us in honoring our first home in Williston as we transition to our new residence in Colchester.

McClure Miller Respite House Closing Ceremony

September 24, 2016

10:00 am – 2:00 pm

You are welcome to join us at any time during this event. This will be an opportunity to reflect upon personal memories of loved ones and to connect with staff, volunteers, family, friends and others who have been connected to Respite House.

The day will start with a short welcome at 10:00 am, followed by time of quiet meditation and reflection, distributing of candles in the rooms, music, and light refreshments. Throughout the day, there will be harp and dulcimer music, poetry readings, and music by the Noyana Singers, UVM Health Network – Home Health & Hospice’s group of trained hospice volunteers.

At 1:00 pm, participants will gather outside the house for a closing ceremony.

There is limited parking available at the Respite House residence for those with mobility issues. There will be parking attendants on hand throughout the day to help guide you to available parking spaces at neighboring businesses.

Reflections and Memories Scrolls

During the day, there will be the opportunity to write a brief reflection or memory onto a small scroll that will be placed in a replica of the Respite House. This replica with the scrolls will be brought to the new House where it will reside in a place of honor.

If you are not able to attend, but would like to include a reflection or memory, or you would like to send your reflection ahead of time, you can use the form on the right of the page to send us a message. We will include it on a scroll to be added to the replica. While we know that you may have many reflections and memories of Respite House, we ask that you limit your submitted reflections to three.
