Palliative Care
Palliative Care services are offered by the VNA Hospice team to help those who have a life-threatening or life-limiting illness maintain the highest quality of life possible. Individuals receiving this service are often not ready for traditional hospice care because they:
- Expect to live longer than hospice guidelines suggest
- Wish to pursue active treatment
- Have an illness whose course is difficult to predict
- May still wish to receive life-saving measures
Our palliative care team will work closely with your physician to provide skilled management of pain and other symptoms. Visits are provided in the comfort, privacy and familiarity of your own residence.
The VNA’s experienced nurses offer clinical expertise, licensed nursing assistants help with personal care and social workers are available to assist with family and financial issues.
