Noyana Singers
The Noyana Singers are trained Hospice volunteers and singers who offer songs of comfort at the bedsides of those who are nearing the end of life.
This service is provided through the VNA's Hospice of the Champlain Valley. The singers are familiar and comfortable with the hospice philosophy of care. The group performs for people in their homes, nursing homes, hospital rooms and at Vermont Respite House.
Music can open hearts, quiet fears and provide a sacred space - one of reverence for the patient and his/her family. The Noyana Singers music sets a restful meditative mood that can help ease the passage between life and death.
The group offers a choice of music according to the patient's musical preferences, and physical and spiritual needs: hymns, folk music, old-time tunes, songs from various cultures and ancient sacred rounds.
The services of the Noyana Singers are free and provided as a loving gift to those who need them. We do gratefully accept donations. If you would like to contribute to the Noyana Singers, you can mail a check or money order payable to the Visiting Nurse Association, 1110 Prim Road, Colchester, VT, 05446 and specify that it is for Noyana Singers. Or you can call us at 802-860-4434 and make a gift with your credit card or you can use our secure website to make a donation online with your credit card.
