The VNA Spring Blooms Fashion showLaura Bowe, Account Executive for WCAX, models fashions atthe 2013 Spring Blooms!Fashion Show and Luncheon.

On April 11, 300 people gathered at the Sheraton for food, fashions and fun at the Spring Blooms! Fashion Show and Luncheon. Thanks to the generosity of event sponsors, raffle prize donors and our guests who bought tickets to the luncheon and lots of raffle tickets as well, this year's benefit raised $30,000 for the Janet S. Munt Family Room, VNA's Parent-Child Center. For 25 years, the Family Room has provided essential services and programs that support our community's most vulnerable families.

Thank you to all of our wonderful models who bravely walked the runway to model fashions from SportStyle, Brooks Brothers Factory Store, Liebling, Jess Boutique and Stella Mae. Our models included Theresa Alberghini DiPalma, Kara Alnasrawi, Brian Boardman, Kyle Bostwick, Laura Bowe, Amy Deavitt, Bob DiPalma, T.J. Donovan, Peggy Eastman, Sheryl Glubok, Frank Harris, Lauren Maloney, Judy Peterson, Martha Maksym, Susie Posner-Jones and Stacy Weinberger.

At the luncheon, St. Michael's College Fix it With Five student organization presented the Family Room's Preschool program with a $10,000 check. This student-led and student-funded grant organization promotes systemic change through its annual donation to a local community-based organization with the goal of permanent sustainable change.

The 2013 VNA Cares for Children award was presented in honor of Virginia (Ginny) and Arnold Golodetz. Their daughter, Amy, accepted on their behalf and spoke of their passion and commitment to the Family Room. They were champions for the children and families who would benefit from this program, providing financial support, volunteering their time, serving on committees, donating books and toys and even helping with the program's move to St. Joseph's school.

A special thank you to all of our sponsors who helped make this event a success: Northfield Savings Bank, Acadia Insurance, Hanson & Doremus Investment Management, Paul Frank + Collins, Bergeron Paradis & Fitzpatrick, Dinse Knapp & McAndrew, P.C., The Lodge at Shelburne Bay, Peregrine Design Build, Pines Senior Living Community, Pomerleau Real Estate, Prentiss Smith & Company, Inc., Queen City Printers, Inc., Coldwell Banker Hickok & Boardman Realty, Gadue's Dry Cleaning, Jivana Holistic Spa, New England Federal Credit Union, Shearer Chevrolet Company, Inc., Wake Robin and Vermont Tent Company.

The Vermont Respite House 5K Fun Run & Jiggety Jog continues to be the single largest annual fundraiser for the Respite House, Vermont's only Medicare-certified hospice home. Vermont Respite House is a home-away-from-home where terminally ill individuals can live out their remaining days in peace, surrounded by the love of family and friends. Every dollar raised from the Fun Run goes directly toward providing room, board, personal care and special services for residents, regardless of their ability to pay.

In 2012, 240 participants ran, walked, jogged, biked and strolled to help raise money for Vermont Respite House. More than $41,000 was raised for Vermont's only  Medicare-certified hospice home to help provide room, board, personal care and special services for residents, regardless of their ability to pay.

For more than 20 years, the Vermont Respite House 5K Fun Run & Jiggety Jog continues to be the single largest annual fundraiser for the Respite House.
