Spring Blooms! Fashion Show

  • A Benefit for VNA's Janet S. Munt Family Room

Spring finally made an appearance on April 10 when more than 300 guests and volunteers descended on the Sheraton Hotel and Conference Center for the Spring Blooms! Fashion Show and Luncheon. The day was filled with food, fun and fashions as we celebrated the Janet S. Munt Family Room. Thanks to the generosity of event sponsors, raffle prize donors and our guests who bought tickets to the luncheon and lots of raffle tickets as well, this year's event brought in more than $45,000 for the Family Room, VNA's Parent-Child Center which provides essential services and programs that support our community's most vulnerable families.

This year we featured fabulous community members to model fashions from SportStyle, Brooks Brothers Factory Store and Jess and lovely shoes from Stella Mae. Thank you to our 2014 models: Jeanelle Achee, Jessica Brumsted, John R. Brumsted, MD, Sarah DeShaw, Kyle Dodson, Zoe Erdman, Al Gobeille, Kim Gobeille, Sybil Keefe, The Hon. Madeleine Kunin, Fayneese Miller, Darren Perron, Tammy Shannon, Autumn Spencer and our very own CEO and President, Judy Peterson.

The 2014 VNA Cares for Children award was given to VNA Board Chair and huge supporter of the Family Room Jim Madison. He joins the ranks of past recipients Virginia (Ginny) and Arnold Golodetz (in memoriam) and inaugural award winner Janet Stackpole.

The Vermont Respite House 5K Fun Run & Jiggety Jog continues to be the single largest annual fundraiser for the Respite House, Vermont's only Medicare-certified hospice home. Vermont Respite House is a home-away-from-home where terminally ill individuals can live out their remaining days in peace, surrounded by the love of family and friends. Every dollar raised from the Fun Run goes directly toward providing room, board, personal care and special services for residents, regardless of their ability to pay.

Each year hundreds of participants run, walk, jog, bike and stroll to help raise money for Vermont Respite House. In 2013, more than $42,000 was raised for Vermont's only  Medicare-certified hospice home to help provide room, board, personal care and special services for residents, regardless of their ability to pay.

For more than 20 years, the Vermont Respite House 5K Fun Run & Jiggety Jog continues to be the single largest annual fundraiser for the Respite House.
