Vermont Respite House 5K Fun Run & Jiggety Jog

3 girls

Despite the rainy forecasts, the skies cleared up just in time for our 5K Fun Run & Jiggety Jog. Over 250 participants and volunteers, along with the support of our many corporate and individual sponsors, helped raise over $60,000 for VNA's Vermont Respite House, Vermont's only Medicare-certified hospice home.

Money raised helps provide room, board, personal care and special service for residents, regardless of their ability to pay.

Vermont Respite House

Founded in 1991, Vermont Respite House is a program of the Visiting Nurse Association of Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties. Vermont Respite House is not a hospital, nursing home or institution, but truly a home-away-from-home where people with terminal illness can spend their final days in peace surrounded by the love of family and friends. Respite House is a unique model in health care. It is the first and currently only Medicare-certified hospice residence in Vermont. Vermont Respite House is committed to the Hospice philosophy of helping people live a quality life until their death by respecting and supporting the uniqueness of each person. A variety of personalized services are provided by a well-qualified interdisciplinary team, house managers and trained volunteers. Services are provided regardless of age, race, gender, sexual orientation, religion or diagnosis.
